Celebrate with us

In November 2018, through a series of activities, debates, performances, we will:

  • Celebrate and raise awareness of what philanthropy has achieved in the North East;
  • Question, debate and inform the future role of philanthropy in the North East;
  • Encourage more philanthropy in all its forms, by demonstrating the joy of giving and the good it can do.

Coming soon...

On 7 November 2018, at the Generosity Festival launch event, you will hear The North East Philanthropy Story for the very first time.

Conducted by the Newcastle University Centre for Research on Entrepreneurship, Wealth and Philanthropy, this research will highlight the acts of generosity from the middle ages (c. 1100) to modern day that have dramatically shaped our region.

The research will also become available online where you will find an interactive map, series of academic essays and over 100 case studies unveiling how our rich philanthropic heritage is woven into the very fabric of North East society.
